"...Where is God my maker
who gives songs in the night." Job 35:9-11

A new year requires a new outlook, and a renewed mindset.  But negative thoughts about people and other things that we have no control over can block good opportunities.  Toxic relationships can keep good relationships from reaching out to us.  Indulging in the same anxiety-ridden lifestyles without seeking methods to change bad habits will result in the same outcome.  Making more promises for the next year.

Having a spiritual plan for the new year sets a pathway for success.  While exercise and diets are all good goals and indeed necessary, prayer and bible study are always a good addition to a  new you.  With all of the challenges we face each day, how can we expect to improve ourselves and eliminate time with God?

If we really want change that will last then change- must begin in the spirit, not just in our minds and bodies. When the spirit of God is guiding you, it will automatically leap into the natural being.  More discipline and self-control will immediately show up. A constant prayer life and reading God’s word can do more for our minds than any external metamorphosis.

Make this year a year to connect with God.  Set up a plan for your spiritual growth and all the other ways of self-growth.   Schedule a time for prayer and bible reading.  Discipline yourself to keep the commitment.  After a week, reassess your plan to determine its benefits.  Then commit to another week.  Before you know it, you won’t want to miss that special time with God.  Ask a friend or family member to join you and look up Bible study sessions on Bible apps.

Soon you will hear a song spring into your spirit. Begin to sing that song with all your heart. This will be your song to enter this year with all the hopes and passions for health and success.

Sing to the LORD a new song,
his praise in the assembly of his faithful people.
