“The Fear of the Lord is a Fountain of Life.”
Proverbs 14:27

The “Fountain of Life” mentioned in this bible verse is an everflowing fountain of peace. It is a spiritual place that, Paul mentions in Philippians, “Passes all understanding.” Phil 4:7.
Through prayer this “Peace” flows as a river through us in uncertain and dangerous times. Like times we are living in today.
When we rely on our own natural abilities to make decisions, we can be lead away from God, and the consequences can be drastic. The devil uses the influence of the world to keep men from fearing God. His desire is to have all of humankind choosing to live in sin.
When a believer loves God, the” fear of sin” is a reminder to run away from anything that would keep us in bondage, not rush toward it. Sin separates us from God, and it allows the enemy to attack us and destroy our lives. When we become obsessed with satisfying our own desires, which can lead us down a path full of bad decisions and wrong choices. If we continue to practice sin, addiction and bondage develop that diminish our productivity, and, leave us empty. Looking to fill a void that is never satisfied. Whatever contributions we had that could have helped others are lost. A lifestyle of sin can be costly.
The Apostle Paul says, “Oh wretched man that I am. Who will deliver me from this body of death? Romans 7:24.
Only Christ can undo the damage done by years of separation from God. Only Christ’s love and forgiveness can deliver us from sin. Jesus is the only one who can save us and restore those things which the cankerworm has destroyed. There are many distinct types of labor in this world. But the spiritual work: prayer, fasting, and studying God’s word is the way to ward off the destructive attacks satan uses against us.
Do the work, come to Jesus and be free from your sin, and experience the “fountain of life” that will be everflowing in your spirit.
